Detroit Catholic Central edges Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice for CHSL championship

Detroit Catholic Central edged Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice to earn the Catholic High School League Bishop Division Boys Golf Championship. Catholic Central shot 300 for the victory. Brother Rice finished at 302. University of Detroit Jesuit was third at 316. Orchard Lake St. Mary's Preparatory finished fourth at 325. Warren De La Salle Collegiate was fifth at 339. Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood took sixth at 347. Dearborn Divine Child was seventh at 366. Macomb Lutheran North was eighth at 394. Junior Daniel Lafferty led Catholic Central with a score of 74. Seniors Liam Casey and Peter Stassinopoluos both shot 75. Sophomore Julian Menser finished at 76. Orchard Lake St. Mary's Preparatory sophomore was medalist at 72.

Clarkston Everest Collegiate edges Ann Arbor Greenhills for CHSL championship

Clarkston Everest Collegiate earned the Catholic High School League Cardinal Division Boys Golf Championship. Everest shot 308 for the victory. Ann Arbor Greenhills was second at 313. Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett finished third at 328. Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard was fourth at 354. Royal Oak Shrine Catholic finished fifth at 358. Everest freshman Parker Stalcup was medalist with a score of 71. Junior Remy Stalcup shot 74, freshman Will Pennanen shot 79, and senior Johnny Nedwick finished at 84 for Everest.

TOM CONNELL Award

The late Tom Connell was an outstanding prep mentor at River Rouge Our Lady of Lourdes High School. Golf being a gentleman's game, fits Tom Connell, who was always a perfect gentleman. The league proudly presents the golf award to the scholar-athlete in his name.
