Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice edges Detroit Catholic Central for CHSL championship
Division 2 No. 6-ranked edged Division 1 No. 1-ranked Detroit Catholic Central to earn the Catholic High School League Bishop Division Championship. Brother Rice finished with a score of 315. Rice was coming off a win at the Oakland County Division 2 Tournament at the Links at Crystal Lake in Pontiac on Friday. Senior Colin O'Rourke led the Warriors, shooting 75. Sophomore Lorenzo Pinilli finished at 77. Junior Kyle Gruley shot 80 and junior Matt Baer shot 82. 2019 CHSL champion (there was no 2020 championship due to the pandemic) Catholic Central shot 317 for second place. Division 1 No. 4-ranked Warren De La Salle Collegiate finished third at 320. University of Detroit Jesuit was fourth at 338. Division 2 No. 8-ranked Orchard Lake St. Mary's Preparatory was fifth at 341. De La Salle freshman Adam Borkhardt won medalist honors, shooting 72.

Ann Arbor Greenhills tops Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard for CHSL championship
Ann Arbor Greenhills topped Division 3 No. 10-ranked Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard to earn the Catholic High School League Cardinal Division Championship. It was its first CHSL boys golf championship. Junior Cale Piedmonte-Lang shot 73 to lead the Gryphons and earn medalists honors for the tournament. Junior Beau Brewer shot 80. Freshman Max Shulman finished at 81. Sophomore Arjun Prabhakar shot 87. Greenhills finished with a score of 321. Gabriel Richard shot 330. Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett was third at 338. Marine City Cardinal Mooney shot 360 for fourth place. Riverview Gabriel Richard was fifth at 386. Royal Oak Shrine (391), Chesterfield Austin Catholic (417), and West Bloomfield Frankel Jewish Academy (428) completed the team results.

TOM CONNELL Award
The late Tom Connell was an outstanding prep mentor at River Rouge Our Lady of Lourdes High School. Golf being a gentleman's game, fits Tom Connell, who was always a perfect gentleman. The league proudly presents the golf award to the scholar-athlete in his name.
