John Shada Award

In 1971, the John Shada Award was instituted in honor and memory of the late John Shada, one of the Catholic League's outstanding coaches. The John Shada Football Award was presented to the offensive and defensive players in each division. In 1980, the award was changed to the John Shada Scholar-Athlete Award. Selection is based also on academic achievement, while being a member of the varsity team.
